The Honorable Ezra Taft Benson served simultaneously as an Apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints AND as the Secretary of Agriculture in the cabinet of U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower for both of Eisenhower’s terms of office.
Therefore, I think this man knew what he was talking about. What is both fascinating and horrifying to me is how much was already threatened in 1974, and how much more threadbare our Constitution has become since then. To quote Tevye, from Fiddler on the Roof “One little time you pulled out a thread, and where has it led? Where has it led?” WAKE UP, AMERICA!!!
