: Is it true that President William Howard Taft was so large that a special bathtub had to be installed in the White House to accommodate him?

Yeah he and Winston Churchill shared the same affliction — they got stuck in the dub and had to be manhandled out.

    Yes, he had a huge 3 ton tub installed so he could take a bath and have more than just his toes in the water, I hear that obama has throw parties in the tub splashing around with the likes of barney frank and biden while they play "battleship"

    Did you know the USS Iowa, one of the last four battleships made by the USA, is the only US navy ship to ever have a bathtub installed? It was put in for President F.D. Roosevelt because he was so weak he could not stand up to take a shower. The ship was used to transport Roosevelt to the Tehran Conference.

    So which is worse? A bigger bathtub in the White House for a fat president or a bathtub on a battleship for a cripple president?
