Can someone tell me what a chamber room is used for in a victorian house?

Posted on May 27th, 2010 by admin in chamber | 3 Comments »

My house plans on my 1854 home has a large room 12 x 12 that is called a chamber room, its not a bedroom because bedrooms are next to it and smaller. What is it for?

I believe it is the bedroom or just another large parlor room in the house.

Back then some houses had chamber maids…who would most likely bunk near the large room, which would explain the smaller rooms near it.

If it’s large enough use it as a sort of family room.

Will Hyperbaric chamber treatment help me with chronic leg pain due to arthritis and blood clots?

Posted on May 3rd, 2010 by admin in hyperbaric chamber | 1 Comment »

I’m constantly in pain with arthritic condition in my legs and probably due to spinal stenosis of some sort. I already had a laminectomy of my c2-c3 vertebrae but still continue to have pain in both legs. My left leg also has two blood clots, one above and one below my knee. I am being treated with coumadin for the clots but the general pain goes through my entire legs. I’ve heard that hyperbaric chamber treatment will help me with this condition. If so, why haven’t the many doctors I’ve seen brought this up as an alternative treatment? Anyone that can help or point me in the right direction please respond. Thanks

The treatment of arthritis and blood clots is not an approved use of HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.)

This is the first I’ve heard of HBOT being suggested for use in arthritic pain, other than some folks believe it helps with the treatment of Lyme Disease (not for the symptoms of it, however.)

Everyone has a friend who has heard that HBOT is the miracle cure for "this or that," and the internet also helps to spread these rumors. From Lyme, to Cebrebral Palsey, to stroke… everyone is so desperate to find a positive treatment that they clutch to the hope that unscrupulous persons push at them.

There are HBOT clinics out there that will treat your hang nail with HBOT… or try to sell you a home-use chamber that is really ineffective. For the official word, check out the link I’ve listed as a source below. They are the society that sets the standards for HBOT.

Why are so many Republicans puffed up about Mexicans when the United States Chamber of Commerce?

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by admin in chamber of commerce | 2 Comments »

instructed their employees in Congress to not have real immigration reform, just to make a lot of nonsense statements about loading them in cattle cars to please the redneck base?

Haven’t any of you Republicans figured this out yet?

a source: http://www.uschamber.com/issues/priorities/immigration.htm

"* Continue pursuing comprehensive immigration reform to better secure our borders; improve electronic employment verification systems for determining whether an employee is authorized to work in the United States; create a new future flow program so that employers can hire immigrant workers when U.S. workers are not available; and provide, under certain strict qualification criteria, a reasonable pathway to legal status for undocumented workers currently in the United States.
* Strongly oppose bills which cripple the current non-immigrant worker visa systems and do not include a mechanism that would ensure businesses with a future flow of workers to fill jobs when Americans are not available."

(very important) Click start to bring up the menu, scroll down to options, and at the very bottom of the list you should see Disable Vita-Chambers: On/Off. Switch this to your preference. Hope this helps it should not be a problem.

See, it will be better if you take up commerce if you want to make a career in law as humanities is not available in your school.
law just requires an intermediate degree (XII Board).

How did the difference of personalities of Roosevelt and Taft affect the success of their Presidencies?

Posted on April 17th, 2010 by admin in taft | 1 Comment »

Please help me answer this history question.

Roosevelt was flamboyant, gregarious, fearless, much admired and extremely popular. Taft was reserved, quiet, uncomfortable with the politicking aspect of his job, bookish, obese and drab.

Although Teddy was the dynamic one, Taft managed to accomplish more during his Presidency by means of the soft sale. Because of Roosevelt’s powerful personality and the belief that the Progressive agenda was of his own making, he’s gone down in history as being one of our greatest Presidents. Because of Taft’s insecurities, he ’s seen as a disappointment and eclipsed by the shadow of his predecessor.
