benefits of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber?

i may have spelled it wrong but i heard it heals people faster because it amps up blood cells that make u have more endurance . but what does it do ?i have cerebral palsy and it was listed as treatment for my spasticity. (tight hamstrings and slightly shaky hands.)

HBOT is used for treatment in some special circumstances, but in most cases it’s still experimental and the benefits unproven. The theory is that by increasing O2 levels in the tissues, it inhibits the growth of certain bacteria that thrive in low O2 conditions.

There is some evidence that HBOT may also improve the activity of the living cells within the bone, aiding repair and bone healing. It may also encourage the formation of new blood vessels, improving the blood supply which also aides healing.

As I said before, there is little convincing evidence that HBOT is at all beneficial.

Oxygen is important to cellular healing. Hyperbaric oxygen chambers deliver high concentrations of oxygen to your cells which helps them repair themselves faster. It can also be used in the immediate post-stroke period to reoxygenate brain tissue that has lost blood flow. I haven’t head of it being used for CP treatment though, but maybe it is still in the expirimental stages.

Hyperbaric chambers are either tube-like enclosures designed for one person, or larger rooms for several people. Usually the treatment takes about an hour each session and the number of sessions depends on the condition being treated. You will wear only the provided cotton clothes in the chamber. A nurse or hyperbaric operator will be near you at all times, but will not come in the chamber with you. Some people experience some discomfort in their ears because of the air pressure changes. It’s very similar to being in a rising or descending airplane. Hyperbaric therapy is not painful.

A hyperbaric chamber works by progressively increasing atmospheric pressure. This results in a higher partial pressure of individual gases, such as oxygen. It can therefore increase the oxygenation of tissues. Scuba diving does the same thing. Hyperbaric chambers were originally used to treat decompression sickness.
Homeopathy can help your CP symptoms by treating the cause. You can find a homepathic doctor through your local association. It’s safe, gentle and effective.
