What is the difference between a bandpass that has larger vented chamber to a smaller venter chamber?

i ask this question becuase there are sites that suggest the vented chamber is larger than the sealed chamber and vice versa. what is the difference between the two.

lets more air out, but bandpass sucks they are only good for certain freqs, go ported
