What are my chances of getting into Brown or U-Penn?
Hi,
I am a senior in high school, just recently I took the ACTs in June and scored a 29 (10 writing), I thought i really needed to improve this score, and went to take them again in October and then i scored a 28 composite (writing not yet known), this makes little sense to me how I could go down in a score, but that is besides the point. I have also taken 3 SAT II test, in Math I – 640, in Math II – 660, in Biology – 770. I have just taken the SATs for the first time ( my mothers fault on that one), and I do not yet know the score.
In more information, I have or will have taken 11 AP classes, 1 sophomore, 5 Junior, 5 Senior, and a College Course through Pitt University in Computer Programming that is weighted as an AP course. My entire senior schedule consist of AP/ College Course, and the standard curriculum that every student is required to take ( Home Ec./ Gym) . My Quarterly Weighted GPA is a 4.85, I do not know what my current cumulative GPA for weighted or unweighted is at the moment ( school is having computer problems switching to a knew software), but from last year it was a 4.178 weighted . My AP scores are 5, 5 , 4, 4 ,4, 4, with 5 more grades to come in July of this year. I have also taken all the AP courses my school will allow me to take ( they don’t offer anymore, hence the reason I moved onto a College Course at Pitt), I am first in my class out of 283, a position I am trailing the second in class.
For extra-curricular, In 9th grade, I participated in two school plays, and a musical, I also ran Cross Country-Junior Varsity, and Track – Junior Varsity, I also did Senior Marching Band ( Drum Line). I did Forensics ( speaking competitions) in which I have first, second and 6th place awards. I was also a member of the school Student Council, and organized a school pep rally by myself. I was also the Treasurer of my county 4-H Club, which was and is the bulk of my community service. I also participated in my Church Orchestra, Church Hand-bell Choir, Church Youth Group ( I was on the council), and I did Spirit Band ( Junior High Band) on the side.
In tenth grade, I took on the only AP Class that tenth graders at my school are allowed to take, which was AP U.S. History, which came with an extremely accelerated special English Course( required to take AP U.S. History. I also participated in Senior High Marching Band, Cross Country-Varsity, Track and Field-Varsity, Mock Trial, Science Olympiad, School Orchestra, I also had skipped a year of German over the summer so I was placed in German IV this year. And I began a self-taught course in French. I participated again, in Church Orchestra, Church Hand-bell, and Church Youth (they abolished the council this year ). I was also a member of the Schools S.G.A. (student government association) in which I was elected to be the 10th Grade Representative on the Executive Chamber. I again participated in 4-H as the Vice-President of my club. That year 4 members of my club, including myself( i was the youngest at 14), competed at the state level in a forestry competition, and proceeded to move on to the National level, coming in 4th place.
My 11th grade year, I dropped many of my extra-curricular due to a massive increase in course rigor. I took 5 AP classes ( Stats, Calc I ( three years ahead the normal student of our school), Biology, Euro, and Computer Sciences) . I also moved to German V the highest level of any language one can go to at my school and reserved for seniors ( I was an exception). In the realm of extra-curricular, I partook in Senior High Marching Band, Wind Ensemble ( the elite band of our school, requires tryouts), Orchestra, Mock Trial (attorney), Forensics, Science Olympiad ( Second Place medal in ecology ),Church Youth, and S.G.A.. I was also nominated to hold a position on a Committee of the School Board to determine the new School Outlook Program for the next decade, which I held for the duration of the year. I was elected to the Presidency of the 4-H club, I was also elected 4-H Ambassador for the County ( one of the highest positions one can hold at the county level). I participated in English Festival for the first time and Scholastic Scrimmage (TV Game Show) and Quiz Bowl. I ended this year by trying out and being named Head/ Executive Drum Major ( tryouts required, I had two assistant Drum Majors ) for the Senior High Marching Band.
This year now, as I have stated, I am taking 5 more AP classes, with another College Course. The APs are Gov, Calc II, Chemistry, Physics B, and English and Composition, the college course as previously stated is 2-3 year ( im not sure ) level at Pitt University. For extra-curricular, I am engaged in the Senior High Marching Band ( Head/Exec. Drum Major ), Mock Trial (attorney ), I am considering starting to run again ( i ended up quitting in 11 grade due to asthma problems ). I also participate in my Church Youth, I will be starting back with my
this should end with, " I will start back with my Church Orchestra soon, I have considered running again, I will also be participating in most of the activities that I did in previous years again. I have little job experience, only recreational soccer referee in 9th,10th and 11th grade.
In my free time I enjoy perspective drawing, painting, and composing for the organ ( which I play ). I am also writing two novels for my friends ( half of one is in french, the other is my memoirs ). I hope to have these finished before I apply, but I don’t know if i will have the time I’m about 100 pages into each. So what are the honest chances of me getting into Brown or U-Penn or any Ivy League for Business and English for that matter.

This is long, but you should look at all schools online, not just Brown or Penn State.
