Action 52 Torture Chamber Vol. 9
I’m back with more “fun” from the game that redefined fun–short for “functionless”–Action 52.
With a swift tour of 8 more Action 52 games, you can tell I’m already getting a little sick and tired of this, lol. I hope you’ve been enjoying (dreading) my Action 52 Torture Chamber series.
Mash Man – Jump over spikes; jump on one-eyed freaks.
They Came… – Bad collision detection, totally random enemies and items. Yep, it’s an Action 52 game.
Lazer League – Only two levels. And no good things to say about the game. By the way, the “music” really sucks.
Billy Bob – Apparently Active Enterprises had no quality urance staff. But I’m sure you’ve already figured that one out. TEST YOUR SOFTWARE BEFORE DELIVERING IT, FOR GOD’S SAKE!
City of Doom – I really don’t care for this game. I could’ve spent much better time playing Lazer League and Streemerz.
Bits and Pieces – Stomp on monsters on completely flat terrain.
Beeps and Blips – Okay, they’re just getting really lazy now. This is just a clone of They Came… At least this one has slightly better sound.
Manchester – Rockin’! That jumping “music” is pretty annoying.

I keep thinking there might be hidden messages spelled out in the background in Mash Man. Those buildings almost look like letters.

And Billy Bob is perhaps the only game I’ve ever seen where the fall itself kills you, rather than the impact.

Bits and Pieces: what is this? a creeper game? Frankenstin? nope just another dumbass Action 52 game that has no point what so ever.
Manchester: Jumping sound + Music pics as tiles + enemys are too easy to beat = another crap Action 52 game that makes no sence.

In Mash Man, you …
In Mash Man, you play as a Jewish Bigfoot jumping over one-eyed Shy Guys, thumbtacks, small triangles, and flying rocks. What a brilliant game.

I really like how the shots from the ship use the same friggin sprite from every direction… Nice touch programmers
I mean granted, Metroid also did, but at least they made the sprite look so it would look normal from any direction.

Actually in They Came, they add health too. It’s just that it’s very hard to tell how much health you have left because of the missing health bar and the fact that you already start with a few hit points.

Beeps and Blips is …
Beeps and Blips is actually a challenging good game,where the 1UPs actually has meaning (they build shields) unlike They Came,where they’re just pure nothing. So Beeps and Blips COULD be enjoyed.
