What is the difference and missions of a town council and a chamber of commerce?
WHat is the difference and smiliarities?
do they work with each other and how or what?
give me feed back …thanks
The town council is usually made up of elected officials who make decisions as to laws, budgets, spending money and how the community is generally run. The chamber of commerce is a group of individuals who do things to support and promote the town. Some may be on the city payroll and some may be volunteers, but they are not usually elected. Their goal is to promote the town, bring in tourists who bring in cash and be a positive force for the town. Hope that helps.

The town council are elected officials and their job is to conduct the business of running the town… pass ordinances, enforce codes and such. The Chamber of Commerce is a private organization composed of business members and run by a board. They "grade" businesses…. they will take complaints and try to arbitrate between the business and the customer… They keep list of complaints against businesses and will give you a report if you ask. In short, the council is in the public sector, the CC in the private sector. They can , and sometimes do, interact to the benefit both
