Would you push yourself to adapt to all kinds of difficulties to move ahead in life?
Isn’t the sheer tenacity of this man amazing?? and the devotion of his friend to create a programme, now available to anyone without charge, that enables one’s gaze to control the position of the mouse…?!!!
The combination of devotion, dedication & technology just takes my breath away…!!!
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (CNN) — The swearing-in of Jorge Rivas into Argentina’s Congress brought tears among his fellow lawmakers, as the Socialist Party politician was wheeled into the legislative chamber 17 months after a beating left him quadriplegic and unable to speak.
As pieces of paper rained down from the hall’s upper levels, representatives of every political stripe on Wednesday gave Rivas a standing ovation, beat the railings and chanted his name, "Jorge! Jorge! Jorge!"
When he was not being embraced, kissed, patted and embraced some more, Rivas, wearing a dark suit, smiled broadly and nodded vigorously.
"He must know how to adapt to all kinds of difficulties to be able to do what he did today," said Rep. Ariel Basteiro, also a member of the Socialist Party.
"To be able to overcome what he did today moved him ahead in life but also, on the other hand, showed this as something plausible for him, because he achieved this purely and exclusively through the tenacity of his force, his desires to fight," Basteiro said.
Rivas was attacked in November 2007 during a robbery in Buenos Aires.
Wednesday’s show of support rippled across all boundaries. "It was a moving moment for everyone because, independent of the different policies, his will to live, to be and to participate politically is admirable," said Fernando Iglesias, a member of the opposition Civic Coalition Party.
"This is something that forms a part of Rivas’ history and today he has made a very clear showing," Iglesias said.
Rivas owed his return to his friend, Eduardo Lazzati, who devoted many of the resources of his software company HadaSoft toward devising a way — using a computer — to help Rivas return to his job as a lawmaker.
"There had been no precedent of a person enclosed in himself" being able to communicate solely through a computer, he said, referring to the fact that Rivas cannot control his hands.
"It’s one thing for a person to be able to send a message to the nurse, and another thing for someone to be disposed to administer their things, their patrimony and to be a citizen and, in this case, a legislator," Lazzati said.
But HadaSoft created a program — now available to anyone without charge — that Rivas employs to use his computer, to write, to talk. Rivas’ gaze controls the position of the mouse, which he uses to call up programs.
The House of Representatives is expected to adapt to the new reality posed by Rivas’ physical limitations. For example, the other representatives’ presence is measured by a weight sensor in each seat. Rivas’ presence will be measured by a sensor on a platform that holds his wheelchair

Quake 3 – Tier 6 : Space Chamber
Part of a series of videos showing the game Quake III Arena developed by ID Software. I do not show the first level (fighting against Crash) because the game frequently freezes when Crash spawns. Needless to say, this gets very frustrating. There are no map transitions, only Tier transitions which simply adds more opponents to beat and playable maps. It is obvious I am playing at Nightmare difficulty, and for the first time since my Doom 3 Map videos, you get to see me die. Enjoy =)

Sound problem (echo) when playing music and videos?
Hello,
I’m looking for some help with the way my music (and videos) has been sounding lately on iTunes and Windows Media Player. I am running Windows XP and have the most recent iTunes software installed.
A few days ago I was playing around with the Sound via Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices and the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I made some changes to volume and such, but didn’t really think that I made any changes that would adversely affect my sound. However, when I play music there is an echo during the song, or maybe you could say the artist sounds like they are in an echo chamber, it sounds terrible.
Any ideas as to how this can be fixed? Before I mucked around with it I didn’t have any issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advanced
Em.
I’ve already set the Environment to <none> and disabled the equalizer but there is still an echo sound ![]()
reopen Realtek HD Audio Manager on set the sounds effects to default
that should set things straight
What are my employment prospects?
I am a 35 year old who has gone back to complete a degree — ANY degree — the swiftest being a Bachelor’s in Science Education (BSE) in "Health Science" (Think Pre-med without the more intensive MCAT preparations or secondary organic chem requirements).
► As a 35 year old who will graduate with said degree within 6 months, and as a 35 year old with experience in sales (health insurance), elementary ‘old school’ web design (notepad HTML and WYSIWYG editors, Photoshop & Illustrator; experience in management/marketing for a profitable retail venue; experience in public speaking, fund-raising, product development / marketing / trending; specific training for retail systems (I live just under the shadow of Wal-Mart Corporate Offices Bentonville, AR., so naturally we are all very immersed in both Wally World Vendors and the proprietary software they use; Oh, and I ran for public office (state Rep) while President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
What Could I do after college?
Oh, and I forgot some other details:
I just received the 32nd Degree in Freemasonry;
I have enjoyed my time as a certified, practicing hypnotherapist (tough to market / FUN to build as a business!!); freelance marketer on pure commission for area chiropractors (another TOUGH sale…I am a sucker for cold calling …It makes me FIRED Up ) [ Now, if someone could teach me better closing techniques...]
Ah, yes… more:
I developed an interactive seminar series that instantly removes MUCH of cold contacting anxiety. Tested it on an area Real Estate company, and they have reported double digit comp increases over last quarter (YAY!!).
► Naturally, I’d LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pharmaceutical sales. In fact, I took the initiave to speak to several area physicians, asking them to help me create a "better system for pharm sales work". Still gathering info for that into a possible book.
Oh, and I have written, self-published and successfully marketed a book (ultimate tough sale, whew).
It seems to me that you have a great passion dealing with people and it sounds like you enjoyed yourself accomplished a lot of things. You sounded like me when I was still in my university. by the way I graduated Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring Accounting and Finance but guess what I have so much passion dealing with people and it makes me happy whenever I accomplished something and now I am a successful retail manager and very good at it. I am sure you will be successful if you go in to a retail business either on your own or work for a reputable retail establishment.
Portal Test Chamber 16 Least Portals
I figured I’d show how I did the advance test chamber 16 with the least amount of portals. The software I use is only a demo, but I can record however long I want, just with a watermark. I hope this helps others out on figuring this chamber out.
