Can a state regulate commerce while Congress is?

Posted on November 16th, 2009 by admin in commerce | 2 Comments »

I have to read a primary source document for US history class. The whole thing talks about some debate about if it’s constitutional for states to regulate commerce with other states and countries while Congress is. I’ve read the whole thing three times and cannot find a straight answer. Help?
That helped a lot. Thanks!

There are three types of government power in the federal system: national powers, state powers, and co-ordinate powers (those shared by the states and the federal government). Congress (the legislative branch of the national government) has the power to regulate interstate commerce. Congress also has the power to regulate foreign trade. States can regulate trade within their own state. One thing the states cannot do is charge tariffs on goods from other states. If the states want to regulate interstate trade, they can make what is known as an interstate compacts but the national government has to approve it. If some states and some provinces want to make some sort of agreement, they can do that but both the U. S. Government and the Government of Canada would have to approve.

What items are Chamber of Commerce’s in most need of, and I would also like to add I am just an event planner?

I’ve not ever heard of donations to Chambers of Commerce, but just phone them and ask. Usually donations are for other agencies locally that help people with food & shelter.

What is the name of the Lifetime movie where a mother dies in the gas chamber?

Posted on November 16th, 2009 by admin in chamber | 3 Comments »

I remember being a little obsessed with this movie when I was younger for some strange reason. A woman goes to prison for something and she either already has a baby or she gives birth in prison. But she is sentenced to die and at the end it shows her dying in the gas chamber. I believe it was a Lifetime movie. Anybody remember the name?

Here is a link to a sight that lists all the Lifetime Movies in alphabet order. Maybe you can find it in this list.

Why is Obama considering the Mother of failed sub-prime lenders for Secretary of Commerce position?

Posted on November 14th, 2009 by admin in commerce | 11 Comments »

Penny Pritzker, the Mother of subprime lenders, former owner of the seized Superior Bank is on Barack Obama’s short list for Secretary of Commerce.

I am sure all those customers she screwed are thrilled. She was a failed subprime lender who set the tone all the way back to 2001.

This is yet another disgusting pick by Obama. He chooses a Commerce secretary who is involved in one of teh loargest economic failures of all time…Obama is not just a poor choice to me now but a downright FOOLISH one.

Where can i get a resignation letter for chamber of commerce president online?

My mother is president of local chamber office and is resigning and needs a resignation form ,can anyone help.

Writing a letter of resignation, less formally referred to as a resignation letter, might be an unpleasant task, depending on why your mother is resigning. Regardless, there’s really not that much to it.

In its simplest form, your mother just dates the letter of resignation, say when and what she is resigning, sign it, hand it over, and that’s it. Five minutes, and she is done.

There’s really no need to explain your reasons for resigning anyway. For one thing, it’s really nobody’s business but your own. For another, however honorable your reasons may be, it’s very hard to strike just the right tone in writing.

Would adding an expansion chamber to my tippmann a-5 help air efficiency?

Posted on November 14th, 2009 by admin in chamber | 2 Comments »

I have an a-5 with an upgraded power tube and it burns through air/co2 like there is no tomorrow. Would adding an expansion chamber to my gun give me better air efficiency? I’ve all so heard of people polishing the inside of the gun to reduce the friction of the rear bolt to get better air efficiency, is this true, and would it help?

It will help air efficiency in some ways. Will you use less air? No… will it make better use of the CO2 gas in your tank, yes it will. CO2 is lost due to incomplete conversion to a gas to power the marker. This can happen during high rates or fire and even in extreme temperatures. Liquid CO2 exits the marker basically wasted… so it will help with CO2 conversion which may give you more shots per fill. It will also help with velocity fluctuations as described above. The Chamber acts as a staging area for the gas as well as more surface area for the Co2 liquid to convert to a gas.

Polishing internals has been shown to lower operating pressure slightly and reduce internal friction. Be careful to only used very high sand paper or other ultra-fine abrasive substances. Some tools and sand paper can take off too much of the internal surface, which prevents the internal parts from forming a complete seal resulting in mysterious leaks.

Good luck and hope this helps!
