Why does the Chamber of Commerce Repugs stand against healthcare reform?
What will it take to finally eliminate the Republicans and establish an independent party with decent, hard working people?
The money. There are huge profits involved.
what benefits to realtors have of becoming memebrs of chamber of commerce?
is it worth the $360 a year? I’m a new realtor and want more business/exposure.
what are the pros/cons
Thanks for all that replied!
When you are new , you have to try 100 things to see if any one of them will work. If you have the extra money, you could pay to see if CofC would help you. Before you pay the money, ask how many realty agents are already members. And be sure to ask how many spouses of Chamber members are agents. If there are already 20 , you might want to skip it.
Introduce yourself to every agent in your office and tell them that you will "watch their business" while they are on summer vacation…. and you don’t want any money. That will get you busy fast.
Then introduce yourself to every escrow officer in town and say that you are free to help anyone who calls them and wants to "see" a rental or house for sale. YOu will be surprised at how many of them will refer your name.
What is a better career? Orchestral or Chamber Music studies?
I play the cello and am going off to college (hopefully a conservatory!) soon, and I can’t decide what is better. Orchestra or Chamber music.
Orchestra playing is fun because there are sometimes over 100 people with you all trying to create ultimatly the same thing; and the end result is usually the most fantastic thing your heart has ever witnessed. But I don’t like how some people can be uncommited and you can’t do anything about it…
And in chamber music, it’s just like an orchestra but smaller. You are working with 2, 3, 4, or 5 people all trying to create the same thing: music. Pouring your hearts out, sharing with one another, trying to send one message. Working together. There’s more control than in an orchestra; but less chance of good money to live off…
So I’m not sure. What do you think? Orchestra, or chamber music? My heart lies with both.
You can do both. I know people who are members of the symphony, but they also do chamber music. They may not do chamber music very often, but they still do it.
I like to be in orchestras. Yes, there will always be those people who dont learn their part very well or practice enough and then end up either messing up in the performance, or doing something that messes up several other musicians (such as rushing or being a half a beat behind). Dont let these people discourage you from doing something you love. When a person in your section screws up, then you play out! Drown that person out. And when someone is a half a beat behind, dont let them drag YOU down, keep playing at the correct tempo. This encourages the other cellists to do the same and also gives the slow cellist a hint that they need to speed up.
I think that if you love both orchestra and chamber music, then do both!

While you are learning music, any playing is both necessary and beneficial. If you plan to make your living in performance, you basically must go where the gig is, and most gigs are with orchestras. You are not limited to major symphony orchestras. There are small chamber ensembles that play music from Bach to Webern. There are ensembles that accompany choirs for major choral works.
I am reminded of violist Ralph Fielding, who, while playing in the Los Angeles Philharmonic, also played for film scores (The Parent Trap), audio recordings (Alanis Morissette), and television shows (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Playing in an orchestra is the ultimate team experience, and in most quality orchestras, the players–be they students or professionals–want to be there. Most players will actually care about the music. Most professional musicians spend most of their life in one orchestra or another.
That is not to downplay the importance of chamber music. In contrast to the orchestra, there is no part that is far superior to another. As a result, it is an equal collaboration between all musicians involved. It is much harder to keep a good chamber ensemble together for this reason; I have seen so many good chamber groups fall apart because of the ego (or lack of motivation) of one musician.
Most schools of music nowadays will include curriculum for all aspects of performance. In the case of string players, that includes solo work, playing in a chamber ensemble, and playing in an orchestra. Music performance majors at my school must spend an equal amount of time in all three areas: they spend four years in orchestra, private lessons, and chamber music. There is good literature in all aspects of music.
If you have the option to choose, I would choose the chamber music emphasis. Great chamber musicians typically make great orchestral players. Great orchestral players do not necessarily make great chamber musicians. This is why more summer camps (big name summer camps for professional musicians, not university-sponsored week-long camps) emphasize chamber playing rather than orchestral playing.
This is not to say, however, that you should ignore becoming a good orchestral musician. Even in good, well-established quartets, the individual musicians will gig around the area. You simply have to do what pays the bills. Best of luck to you!
where are there hyperbaric chambers in Ontario?

What do you think of this President Taft quote?
"The day is not far distant when three Stars & Stripes at three equidistant points will mark our territory: one at the North Pole, another at the Panama Canal and the third at the South Pole. The whole hemisphere will be ours in fact as, by virtue of our superiority of race, it already is ours morally."
I think it is proof of Americas imperialism, something which is still going on today and which is why a lot of people hate the U.S.
Brick: latin americans had complex cities and lived in harmony with nature instead of trying to change nature, while we now do the latter. So in a sense, we are now the more uncivilized people.
cvq: Jealousy? Thats exactly the same excuse that bush used to justify going into iraq. "they are jealous of our freedom" That is major BS.
http://www.mindfully.org/Reform/2003/US-Interventions-1823.html
First, although I agree we are imperialistic, the past NEVER proves the present.
It is our arrogance that offends; such as the comment that Latin America couldn’t possibly get electricity without our intervention. Most 3rd world countries are 3rd world because of our med ling and worse in their affairs.
It is hard for the rest of the world to look at our abundance and see that we do nothing with it , while whining all the way to the bank. That’s not jealousy, its a total astonishment as to the level of selfishness displayed by those who have everything and not just Americans, but the elite of every nation. America bashing makes no sense as we are not the evil of the world, just one of many.
The people on the bottom are all on the same side. As long as the top has us competeing for crumbs and fighting each other, they get to keep the wealth and the underpaid work force.
Illegals aren’t taking anything from us but we are paying for the lifestyles of the rich and famous every time we go to work or buy something.
Yes, the legacy of Tafft continues and as you can see from some of the reponses so many people still don’t get it.
I have a new PC with Vista. What is the best order in which to install my other software?
Main progs I use are: Kaspersky Internet Security, Canon Scanner, Samsung Printer, Office Prof 2007, Chambers Dictionary, Word Perfect, Paint Shop Pro, Jot+ Notes, Write it Now, Life Journal 2, Mind Manager Pro 6, First Class, Lyceum and Mozilla Firfefox.
Make sure you have your security installed first of all. The rest of your programes will probably need drivers, no problem , Vista tells you were to look for downloads.
What are some specific mechanisms by which oxygen can be damaging to humans? What is oxygen toxicity?
Recently, a hyperbaric chamber became available for me to use. I suffer from the lingering effects of an anoxic brain injury and have read some literature on the benefits/ limitations of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I plan to give the chamber a try, but wonder what risk I am taking. Also, I hope to learn about the damage chemical/biological that is possible with oxygen concentrations > atmospheric. Thanks to anyone who is both qualified and willing to answer my question.
it goes like this.
when u breathe in oxygen, ur blood becomes slightly acidic, when u breathe out ur blod becomes slightly basic (as in a base)
hope that helped…
