What is the acceptable clearance between the chamber of a revlover and the barrel?

Posted on July 28th, 2009 by admin in chamber | 5 Comments »

It is an Enfield "Tanker" 38 S&W, It looks to be in very good condition, but I believe it has been well used and was a WW II service revlover.
What I find is a noticeable amount of smoke coming from the chamber/barrel area when fired. Plus it doesn’t seem to have the kick that I anticipated.
I also fire on a regular basis a S&W 44 mag revlover and a Ruger Mark II .22cal .

Each company will have it’s own tolerances. I am only familiar with Smith and Wesson since that is the only factory I have been trained at. They have different go/no-go gauges for the barrel cylinder gap but you also have to take in account the head space/recoil shield gap. There are many variables including yoke/cylinder run out, yoke length etc. Keep in mind that different companies use different reference names for the same problem.

Also during WWII, many firearms were " lend lease" made in different specs by different companies and later re-chambered when the war was over. The Webley .38, as I remember was pretty under-powered so expecting .38 special performance is not in the cards.

One company may refer to a cylinder as being out of time, while another may call the condition DCU ( doesn’t come up).Just be sure of what you are firing in the gun or at least have a competent smith check it out.

Sonic Adventure 2 – Death Chamber

Posted on July 28th, 2009 by admin in chamber software | 25 Comments »

I hate this stage I hate this stage I hate this stage!! XD Or more specifically… it’s my least favourite Knuckles stage from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Death Chamber!

This level is huge… It’s not as huge as Mad Space, but the enclosed corridors really make manuvering through the level a pain in the behind. Meteor Herd is dramatically easier to get all A ranks on than this level after you’ve learned patterns for both.

HOWEVER! Despite it’s difficulty that doesn’t mean I can’t crush Death Chamber into oblivion while the camera’s rolling, and that’s just what I did!

A mix of luck, skill, and memorization allowed me to clear Death Chamber without using any hints… in just over 1 minute and 30 seconds! Yes that’s definitely my fastest time ever on this stage, so it’s mere happenstance that it happened while I was recording. XD

This is the second video I’ve uploaded that uses my new TV Tuner software, Chris-TV, to do the recording. By this point I’d perfected how to use it, so sound stays in sync this time, making for a very nice quality video! (The high-res version on my laptop is especially good… XD)

Now then… that’s more than I usually say on these videos, but never the less…

Enjoy!~
